I work for the charity Art Against Knives, born from the unprovoked stabbing of St Martin’s student Oliver Hemsley in Shoreditch in 2008, which left Oliver in a wheelchair.
Art Against Knives now runs OurSpace, a youth-led initiative that aims to reduce knife crime by engaging young people in deprived areas. Our Aim is to provide creative resources and facilitate opportunities for young people within the multitude of creative industries in London.
We launched in 2009 with a incredibly high profile exhibition, supported by the likes of Antony Gormley, Tracey Emin, Vivienne Westwood, Wolfgang Tillmans, Rankin and Banksy! The exhibition was covered by Vogue, I-D Magazine, The Evening Standard and The Independent .
What we’re asking you for is a little help and support for AAK and the upcoming exhibition! For more info please visit:
Or feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to see how you can help support Art Against Knives!
And you can check out the original exhibition here
Thanks for listening!
